Christmas Term in Pitt House
10 December 2025 - Pitt

There is something truly magical about being in a school during the festive season, and Wycombe Abbey does not fail to deliver that sense of excitement and joy. From the sparkle of Christmas trees to cheerful jumpers and cherished House traditions, Pitt has been alive with joy, laughter, and a strong sense of community.
As we reflect on this term, it has been a time of both hard work and unforgettable moments. The UV demonstrated resilience and determination throughout their mock examinations, while the LVI approached Progress Tests with admirable focus. Academic effort has been balanced beautifully with creativity, celebration, and camaraderie- hallmarks of boarding life.

Halloween
The Mons outdid themselves with a spectacular Halloween party, transforming the House into a spooky corridor filled with eerie decorations and inventive costumes. Girls enjoyed trick-or-treating at doors and playing themed games. It was a perfect way to round off the Half Term.
Bonfire Night
Bonfire Night was a highlight for the whole School community, with dazzling fireworks lighting up the sky. Pitt shone brightly too: our LIVs collaborated brilliantly to create an incredible Lego Man Guy, earning a proud 3rd place! Special thanks goes to Maya for leading our charity stall, which raised an impressive £535; thank you to everyone for your generosity.

House Dance
Victory for Pitt! After weeks of rehearsals, our UIV dancers delivered a flawless performance that secured 1st place. From sharp choreography to coordinated costumes, the professionalism and energy on stage were outstanding. The girls’ commitment and teamwork were truly inspiring—what a triumph!

House Ensemble
Pitt musicians came together to perform The Imperial March from Star Wars in House Ensemble. While we did not place, Cate’s spirited conducting with a lightsabre—dressed as Darth Vader—and the debut of our new House mascot (a giant inflatable bee!) made it a memorable experience for all. A huge well done to all our performers for playing so well with limited rehearsal time.
Christmas Celebrations
This term’s festive spirit reached new heights. We embraced the German tradition of Nikolausstiefel, leading to some girls’ initial confusion about leaving shoes outside their doors, but their delight the next morning was priceless! Our Secret Santa exchange brought thoughtful surprises and plenty of laughter, while festive baking and Christmas movies added warmth to winter evenings.
A special mention goes to the first-ever Pitt Talent Show, which showcased incredible creativity and courage. The House staff even joined in with an improvised Nativity, adding to the fun! The girls demonstrated formidable dance moves, great Christmas songs, questionable rapping, and an abundance of festive cheer. Our House Christmas Meal was a wonderful opportunity to gather as a community, share a meal, and reflect on the term. We ended on a high note with the beautiful Carol Service, where our readers did us proud.

Looking Ahead
As we close the Autumn Term, we celebrate not only achievements but the friendships and memories that make Pitt so special. Thank you to all parents for your continued support. We look forward to an exciting Spring Term filled with new challenges and opportunities, and we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
