Pitt Autumn Term

At the start of term, we welcomed 14 LIV girls to Pitt House, including both girls new to the school and from Junior House; two new LVI girls, new UIV and our new Housemistress, Mrs Biddle. We have been so impressed by how well the pupils have settled into living in Pitt and are embracing House life. The atmosphere in House is warm, vibrant and purposeful, with evenings spent playing games, making toasties or working in the study.
Our congratulations to Mia and Annabel as Head of House and Deputy Head of House respectively. The girls have introduced “Mons Take Over Thursdays”, and have already organised crepes, treasure hunts and a Halloween Party for the girls in House. The rest of the LVI have embraced their roles and it is wonderful to see them committed to giving back to both the school and wider community.
Weekends
The first closed weekend in September was action packed with a giant inflatable course, zorbing, and team challenges, it was a great opportunity for girls to spend time in their house families and get to know each other better. Girls have also enjoyed a social with Eton, with a wonderful dinner and disco. Go karting, shopping trips to the Eden Centre, the theatre and Air Soft have also been some key highlights.
House competition
The UIV have been furiously practising their House Dance routines, with a strict regime of rehearsals, lead by Lita. The theme this year is ‘films’ and, after much debate, the girls have decided on a mash up from ‘Madagascar’;, “I like to move it” can be heard playing throughout the House most evenings!
The LIV are busy making their Guy for Bonfire Night, returning to House with hands covered in yellow paint – perhaps this is the year that Pitt are winners after being robbed a victory last year.
Activity Days
The LIV enjoyed their trip to France, where the bravest girls tried eating snails, with the rest more content with sampling the food at the chocolate factory!
The UIV had a wonderful time exploring the National Space Centre and then a range of outdoor activities which tested their resilience and teamwork.
A huge congratulations to the LV for their DofE expedition. Despite being exhausted, they were very grateful that the weather was kind.
The UV impressed with their maturity during the Trenches trip and Eva was chosen to lay a wreath at the Menin Gate. I am sure this experience will have had a last impressing on them.
The LVI enjoyed staying in School and completing a series of workshops including first aid, self-defence and DIY skills!
We are so proud of all the girls have achieved this half of term;, it has been a pleasure and privilege getting to know all the girls in Pitt. I hope they have a restful and enjoyable Long Leave, ready for a busy second half of the Autumn Term!

Welcome from our Head and Deputy Head of House
Hello everyone!
We are absolutely thrilled to kick off another Academic Year and extend a warm welcome to everyone, especially new girls (and Housemistress!).
The start of the year has been filled with many new projects, and it has been amazing to see everyone getting involved and representing Pitt, whether that be in sport, drama or music. All the girls have enjoyed activities within house and getting to know new students and staff has been thoroughly entertaining with some weekly highlights including ‘Toastie Tuesday and Fruity Friday’.
As Head and Deputy of Pitt, we are passionate about encouraging girls to get involved in all aspects of Wycombe life and fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere where every girl can thrive. A new initiative that the Lower Sixth have been implementing is ‘Takeover Thursday’ where groups of us organise an activity for the younger girls to participate in. So far crepe making, cookie decorating and board game night have all been a huge success and very well received by all of the girls; we cannot wait to continue this tradition. Coming up we have our very own Pitt Halloween Party involving lots of fun activities and a fancy dress competition which we hope will go down a treat!
Shortly after coming back from Half Term, we have Bonfire Night and the LIV’s Guy preparation seems to be going well with minimal yellow paint stains which is always a bonus! Our House Charity Rep, Maya, has been working very hard on the Pitt stall and we hope that everyone enjoys it and the hard work that she put into it. Finally, we are proud to represent Pitt, and look forward to meeting the wider community at our House dinner!
