A fond farewell to Clarence as they begin Study Leave

This half term saw the wonderful Clarence Leavers’ event which was a fabulous occasion celebrating the UVI time at Wycombe. It ranged from speeches, a chapel service, video messages from staff, champagne reception, formal dinner and dancing. Following this Clarence started Study Leave, although most of the students decided to stay in, it was a very quiet and studious house until Saturday evening in the Clarence Common Room where it has been so lovely to see them all socialising. I asked some of the students in Clarence to sum up the house in one word starting with one of the following letters, here’s what they came up with.

C – Community

L – Laughter, Loving

A – Awesome

R – Rewarding, Resilience

E – Exciting

N – Nurturing

C – Caring, Clarence Bar

E – Entertaining

– Legendary

E – Empathetic

A – Adventurous

V – Vibrant

E – Exceptional

R – Remarkable

S – Supportive, Special, Safe-space

I feel very fortunate to have had the privilege of guiding such an exceptionally talented, kind and caring group of young adults through their final year at Wycombe Abbey. There have been ups, downs, tears and laughter and it has been an absolute joy to have got to know each and everyone of them. I wish them all the success in the world as they journey on to the next chapter.
