Rubens House Blog – Summer Term First Half 2026
21 May 2026 - Rubens

Hello Summer Term! And what better way to start than with some small, cute, four-legged, 8-week-old friends visiting the Pink Palace? At Wycombe, we are very lucky that our wonderful Counsellor, Heather, shares her passion for dogs with our girls. The Rubens girls were treated to a very special puppy socialisation class. Luckily for our parents, all the puppies already had homes to go to.

We start this blog with some updates from the very last day of the previous term. Firstly, huge congratulations to our LVI Sport Captains, Annamaria and Ava, who saw Rubens to victory for Spring Term House Games! What a wonderful trophy to add to our Common Room; a testament to their leadership and team work with our House of 71 pupils!
Rubens was a huge hive of excitement at the end of term as the new Head Girl Team for 2026/27 was announced. Congratulations to our Head of House, Emma (LVI), who becomes a Deputy Head of School. And Congratulations to our Deputy Head of House, Mati (LVI), who becomes the Head of School. We are so proud of our precious piglets, and we know they will take their experiences from the sisterhood of Rubens to spread the joy, kindness and mutual respect that hold our House together.

With Rubens losing our existing Head of House and Deputy Head of House to the Head Girl Team, we also see two new leaders rise to the top of the Pink Palace! Hello to our new Head of House, Amelie (LVI), and Deputy Head of House, Dottie (LVI).

This term started with our annual fun fair and petting zoo. The sun was out and the inflatables were high and colourful. The girls had a great time with a delicious lunch of chilli and nachos, cotton candy, churros and ice cream. The animals in the petting zoo were also a huge hit, ranging from guinea pigs, hens, ponies and ducklings.

Well done to Cara (UIV), Gracie (LV), Emily (UV), Poppy (UV), Cherry (LVI), and Louise (LVI) for taking part in the Tennis House Funals. The girls were brilliant, lighting up the court with the pink prowess.
It’s also that very special time of the year when the UIII Rubens girls get to visit the House for the first time and get to know some of the girls they will be living with in September! We had a lovely time saying hello to our newest recruits and the UIV girls had a special picnic with them. We look forward to seeing the UIII back in Rubens in June when they will have a dinner date with the current LIV.

We love the Summer Term in Rubens, and we can’t wait to see the days get warmer and the joys of Sports Day and Dove Day to arrive. For now, we will leave you with some therapeutic pics of our girls with their four-legged puppy friends!
