As the sun makes an appearance, we reach the end of another eventful Half Term. It is a pleasure to reflect on all that the Pitt girls have achieved and enjoyed this Summer – It has certainly been a packed few weeks!

First and foremost, we bid a fond farewell to Miss Allen, who finishes her time in Pitt this Term. Her steadfast support has been the bedrock of the House over the last twelve years, and she will be sorely missed by girls and staff alike. From early morning wake-ups to late-night chats, Miss Allen has been a constant source of care and calm. We know she will go on to do wonderful things, and she leaves with our deepest thanks and very best wishes.

The girls were out in force in the inaugural Pitt vs Rubens rounders match. The match was close-fought, light-hearted and filled with laughter (plus a few tumbles!). A huge thank you to the Tutors who joined in—some with a little too much enthusiasm, resulting in a couple of scraped knees! Ice-pops at half-time proved to be popular and, although we lost by the narrowest of margins—just half a rounder, the girls’ energy and team spirit were truly commendable.

We also saw great success over in LAC this Half Term, with several Pitt girls starring in the Fourth Form play, ‘The Revengers’. Congratulations to Sanvi, Tina, Mia, Lita, Marina and Lara for their brilliant performances in this witty and inventive piece written by our very own Mr Harrington. Following the exploits of Macbeth’s witches as they wreak havoc across the Shakespearean universe, it was a play full of mischief, drama and laughter.

The creative talents of the House were also on full display in the House Play competition, where our LV group took on the challenge of creating a performance under the theme ‘Poetry in Motion’. Their piece, inspired by the haunting nursery rhyme ‘Ring a Ring o’ Roses’, was both clever and humorous, capturing the judges’ attention with its originality. The results will be revealed at Mark Reading but, whatever the outcome, we are so proud of the girls’ commitment and imagination.

Dove Day gave the Pitt community the chance to reflect on a wonderful Academic Year and celebrate everything our girls have achieved. A new addition to the schedule this year was the Raft Racing competition, where Houses were challenged to construct and race their own rafts across the lake. Pitt’s raft had a somewhat uncertain start, but the girls persevered with humour and good grace, eventually securing a proud 7th place—officially crowned the “best of the worst”! A special mention to our raft crew, Valentina, Elisabeth, Margot, Mia, Anissa, Tekla, Eva and Charlie who stayed upbeat throughout and made a splash in more ways than one.

In the final week, our Tutor Treats tradition offered a well-earned moment to pause and celebrate. The UIV opted for an evening of ice-cream at Treatz in town, while the LV opted for a relaxed charcuterie evening hosted by Mrs Maddison and Ms Williams—a perfect way to end the year with good food and even better company.

As we head into the Summer holidays, we want to thank all the girls, Tutors, and Staff who make Pitt the vibrant, supportive and joyful place it is. Whether performing on stage, cheering from the side-lines, or simply being a good friend in the corridor, each member of the House has contributed to our special community.
