Pitt Spring Term Newsletter

It does not seem possible that we have reached the end of the first full Spring Term in over two years; it has been incredibly busy for the girls and to see them all participating in many of the wonderful events is superb!

Music

Earlier this half term, many of the girls were involved in the Battle of the Bands which followed a great Saturday evening of RocSoc in School with Harrow in attendance. So many of the girls really love playing and I know that some of the girls have written their own music and lyrics for the performances. Special mention must go to Moon, who not only wrote a piece of music / lyrics but also taught the content to the band for their exceptional performance. The girls involved were Phoebe and Moon. A superb performance by everyone.

125 Concert

A large number of the girls in Pitt were involved in the 125 Concert after Long Leave following the earlier postponement. The concert was a wonderful evening for everyone; those in the audience and especially for the performers themselves. Having such full rehearsals prior to Long Leave and the disappointment of the postponement, the girls all gave exceptional effort to a wonderful school event. The girls came away buzzing from their participation and those watching the talent were amazed and aghast.

Sister Act

The girls have all been working incredibly hard and especially in the last week with the technical and dress rehearsals. A special congratulations must go to Phoebe for an outstanding performance as Eddie, and also to Freya, Melody, Cate and Nadia. The performances were exceptional and beyond any School production. I know that many of you attended the performances and it was incredible to watch after so long, given the pandemic causing interruptions!

Confirmation

In March we saw Georgie take her Confirmation alongside other girls in School. For Georgie to have her own family and friends in attendance was perfect. It was such a special service attended by family and friends making it all the more encompassing given recent times.

Tutor Events

The tutors, throughout the course of the term, always enjoy spending time with their tutees. None more so than the UV, who after their TAG week had a beautiful breakfast laid on by Miss Williams. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the amazing fresh fruit, salmon and of course bagels and croissants. The girls certainly deserved it after their enormous hard work in the previous weeks.

Sporting Recognition

A number of girls in the House have been representing their countries in a range of different sports over the course of the term. They have been balancing their academic studies alongside more specialist training and rightly should be proud and thrilled by their achievements. Special mention should go to Isabella (Lacrosse/Fencing), Freya (Equestrian) and Caterina (Lacrosse).

In this short but busy term, many of the girls are involved in Nationals and District Competitions. The last weekend of term saw the climax of the competitions and all the girls involved did a remarkable job.

And Finally…

At the end of this term, we are saying a farewell to Miss Warden who is moving on to St Mary’s Cambridge to take up a position there. Miss Warden started in Pitt at the beginning of the move into the new building and has helped embed the routines of the House. Her care and attention of each and every girl has been fantastic; those still in House and those that have left will undoubtedly have many fond memories of the time spent chatting and her accompanying them to appointments. She will leave behind many memories for the girls, staff and parents. We wish her and Tobi all the very best as she moves to pastures new over the Easter holidays. Thank you so much for your endless time and patience with the girls during your time in House.
