The Butler Blog- Happy New Year!

The Butler Blog – A Term to Remember!

As we reach the end of the first Half Term, we can’t help but reflect on the incredible moments we’ve shared in Butler House. Happy New Year to all! From high-energy discos to meaningful Chapel services, this Half Term has been packed with excitement, achievement, and a whole lot of fun!

Silent Disco – Was it silent though?

One of the standout nights of the Half term was our Silent Disco. With headphones on and music pumping, everyone danced like no one was watching! Whether you were belting out the lyrics to a throwback classic or switching between DJ channels to find the best tunes, the atmosphere was electric. Who knew silence could be so loud?

Societies Sunday – Exploring New Passions
Societies Sunday was an exciting opportunity for the girls to sign up for activities and hobbies they love or have always wanted to try. Whether it was debating, creative writing, music, or sports, the day allowed everyone to immerse themselves in something they truly enjoy. It was wonderful to see so many students embracing their interests and discovering new passions!

Cross Country Finals – Butler House Running Strong
Braving the elements, our determined runners took on the Cross-Country Finals with resilience and energy. Cheered on by friends and housemates, they pushed through every hill and hurdle, proving that team spirit is just as important as speed. A huge well done to all our participants—you did Butler House proud!

A special mention to Katya, Angel, Summer, Cynthia, Annie, and Tracy, to name a few, for their fantastic efforts!

Music Award Holders Concert – A Night of Talent
We were treated to an evening of beautiful performances at the Music Award Holders Concert. From soulful solos to mesmerising ensemble pieces, our talented musicians filled the hall with spellbinding melodies. A special mention goes to Chloe and Elizabeth from Butler House for their outstanding performances—your music was truly breathtaking! It was an inspiring reminder of the musical brilliance we have within our House!

Socials with the Boys’ School – Connections and Laughter
Throughout the term, our socials with  Eton and Cothill brought plenty of laughter and new friendships. Whether it was a quiz night, a games evening, or just a disco and chat, these events created fantastic memories and a great sense of camaraderie. Here’s to many more fun gatherings ahead next term!

Model United Nations & The Ball – A Celebration of Participation

Some of our Butler House girls, including Iris, Elizabeth, and Chloe, had the exciting opportunity to participate in the Model United Nations Conference held at Wycombe Abbey where they represented diverse perspectives and engaged in meaningful discussions. Later, they attended the MUN Ball, looking radiant as they celebrated the occasion. It was a fantastic evening filled with fun and friendship, perfectly rounding off a memorable experience for all involved.

Butler House Chapel Service – A Moment of Reflection

Bringing the House together in a moment of unity, our Chapel Service was a special occasion. With heartfelt readings, beautiful music, and thoughtful messages, we reflected on our journey this term. The theme of resilience was particularly inspiring, with Tallulah, Daphne, Vivienne, and Maddy speaking beautifully and adding a personal touch to the service. It was a powerful reminder of the strength within our Butler House community.

As we wrap up this busy and brilliant Half term, we want to thank every member of Butler House for making it so memorable. Here’s to more incredible moments in the next term with our amazing House Outing already booked! —bring it on!
