Twelve Days of Clarence Christmas
10 December 2025 - Clarence
Christmas at Clarence is never ordinary. It’s a season of achievements, laughter, and a little mischief! Inspired by the classic carol, here’s our festive countdown of what Clarence gave us this term:

On the First Day of Christmas, Clarence gave to me… 83 UCAS forms sent A huge well done to all pupils who drafted and re-drafted their personal statements and spent hours researching the perfect courses. All UK university applications are now submitted, and offers are already rolling in!
On the Second Day of Christmas, Clarence gave to me… 19 US Early Applications Early applications have been made and interviews with alumni are underway. 25 pupils are now polishing essays for regular decision deadlines so the US Office is a hive of activity!
On the Third Day of Christmas, Clarence gave to me… Applications to International Universities Over 20 applications have already been made to prestigious institutions in Hong Kong, Spain, Italy, Thailand, Australia, and Canada. It’s great to see that our pupils are thinking like true global citizens.
On the Fourth Day of Christmas, Clarence gave to me… University Interviews Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, Medicine: our pupils have been preparing for lots of university interviews. Mock interviews with Wycombe Abbey and Brighton College teachers helped boost confidence and offered some useful tips.
On the Fifth Day of Christmas, Clarence gave to me… Carrington Electives With a range of topics from U.S. presidential elections to public speaking, harnessing the power of AI to creative upcycling. Pupils explored ideas and developed skills beyond A Levels in these enjoyable short seminars.
On the Sixth Day of Christmas, Clarence gave to me… Inspirational words from Carrington Speakers UVI have heard from lots of speakers this term as part of the Carrington Programme including Seonaid Mackenzie’s insightful talk on how to communicate your ideas and Rick Findler on his fascinating career photographing war zones.
On the Seventh Day of Christmas, Clarence gave to me… Caledonian Society Highland reels, Scottish jigs, and plenty of laughter as pupils danced with friends from Eton, Harrow, and Winchester.
On the Eighth Day of Christmas, Clarence gave to me… An evening of Treat or Treat UIII and LIV pupils joined Clarence for Halloween fun: no tricks, just sweet surprises and wise words from our UVI girls.
On the Ninth Day of Christmas, Clarence gave to me… A spectacular fireworks display Bonfire Night lit up the skies of High Wycombe with dazzling colours, charity fundraising, and the fiercely contested Guy competition.
On the Tenth Day of Christmas, Clarence gave to me… Final Carol Practice Christmas jumpers, tinsel, and a raucous singalong. Clarence pupils led the charge in a rendition of “Five Gold Rings!” that has to be seen to be believed!
On the Eleventh Day of Christmas, Clarence gave to me… Christmas Tea and House Party Food, games, music, decorations, and festive cheer. Thanks to the Clarence Chairs and Mrs Sparks for making the end of term merry and bright!
On the Twelfth Day of Christmas, Clarence gave to me… A mischievous elf called Clarice Spreading joy (and a little chaos), Clarice popped up everywhere this term. Catch him if you can!

From all of us at Clarence and the Sixth Form Team, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
