As is usual in Pitt, the half term started as busy as ever with many girls involved across the breathe of the school.
Activities in House
A firm favourite to start is Monday night activities with nachos. Expertly prepared by Miss Leslie and Miss Harris, the girls across the house diverge on the House kitchen. It is amazing to see the girls of all year groups come together.
Bonfire Night
Following the start of the half term was Bonfire Night and the LVI team put together a fantastic stall. Raising over £200 for charity the girls gave it their all. Alongside our house stall, the LIV girls were all involved in making the ‘guy’. The LIV all put in a lot of extra time together to make the guy really stand out – it was huge! It was artistically created with Miss Williams, their tutor and wise words of encouragement and artistic flair.
The firework display was superb and it was a fantastic opportunity to bring everyone together after so long.
House Cross Country
With the half term starting with such mild weather, it was a welcome relief for the House cross country runners. The girls equipped themselves superbly participating with enthusiasm, support and very loud encouragement. The girls placed brilliantly and they were amazing around the course in the school grounds; it certainly is not a flat run!
House Dinner
After three years, we were able to host in the newly refurbished Big School, our House Dinner. It was a superb event with girls, their parents, House staff and tutors all dressed up in Black tie for a fabulous evening of light entertainment, music and fine dining.
The girls provided the light entertainment and fabulous music with Gwyneth really demonstrating her superb talent and musicianship.
Big School looked absolutely stunning against the backdrop of a full laid out Black Tie dinner and dressed tables. Credit to Holroyd Howe for superb catering and service.
The girls and their parents had a fabulous time and the parents commented on a superb evening, music and catering.
At the end of the dinner the girls sung their House Anthem to the marvellous applause of their parents, tutors and house staff.
After so long and with all the preparations leading into the House Dinner and will Big School be ready, it was a truly great evening.
And finally…
With the festivities beginning after the House Dinner, the House became a festive celebration of Christmas with the girls involved in the decorating especially the tree.
The House Christmas lunch was a really special occasion and the food amazing.
