A warm welcome to everyone for the new Academic Year; a busy start and something of a whirlwind, complete with adventure, activities and opportunities for everyone in Pitt.
We have welcomed three new members of the House team, Miss Fraser and Miss Storey as Day Matrons, along with Miss Ley as our Resident Tutor for the Academic Year. It is great to have them as part of the team, joining Mrs Maddison, Ms Wells and myself. We are all looking forward to the year ahead and the many shared activities and experiences.
With the new Academic Year, we welcome our LVI girls into the Sixth Form after an excellent summer of results. They all worked incredibly hard, and it is great now to see them flourish in the Sixth Form and beginning their A-levels. We extend our congratulations to Todi and Margot as Head of House and Deputy Head of House respectively. The girls are already enjoying and making the most of their positions in House with the LVI girls enjoying their positions too.

We would like to extend everyone a very warm welcome to this Academic Year and are honoured to be serving as Head and Deputy Head of Pitt. In true Wycombe fashion, the start of term has been jam-packed with fun activities and it’s been great to see everyone, particularly new girls, adjusting to school life. So far, all year groups have enjoyed bonding with each other by getting to know new pupils and staff through beloved House activities such as Toastie Tuesdays and Fruity Fridays.
Our main aims for this year are to promote engagement in all areas of Pitt life and foster a positive House environment. Therefore, the LVI hosted informal meetings with LIV and UIV pupils to catch up (with tea and biscuits of course !) and strengthen inter-year relations. Another highlight has been ‘LVI Little Lights’, where the LVI say goodnight to younger girls and have really enjoyed chatting with them. Pitt has also hosted several Day Boarder events, including a special breakfast in House on Saturday morning for the Day Boardersin Pitt, which everyone loved.
Earlier this Term, we had lots of fun celebrating Miss Allen’s birthday in House Order, with a gift and card from the girls, topped off with a delicious cake baked by Mrs Pearce. As always, the parent drinks in the Common Room following the first Short Leave was a success, and it was lovely engaging with the wider House community. Finally, we can’t wait for Bonfire Night and to see the complete Pitt Guy – it’s looking very promising from what we have seen so far – and we are really looking forward to House Dinner later in the term.
In all, we’ve had a fantastic start of term in Pitt and are excited for the year ahead!

Activities
Something that all the girls enjoy are the wide range of activities on offer. To start the Academic Year, the Funfair once again came to School. Our Pitt girls made the most of the sunshine and endless fun on offer. There was plenty of laughter as they enjoyed thrilling rides and, of course, indulged in some delicious candy floss. The day set a fantastic tone for the rest of the term.
Activity Days
The Activity Days have been another highlight, with each year group taking on something different. The adventurous spirit of Pitt House was in full swing! Some of our students visited Bletchley Park, delving into the fascinating world of wartime codebreaking and technology. Another group attended a Communications Conference, which offered valuable insights and challenges. Meanwhile, our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh participants faced a particularly rainy expedition, but their determination and teamwork shone through despite the soggy weather. These experiences have not only been educational but also great opportunities for our girls to bond and develop new skills.

Day Boarder Teas and Breakfasts
It’s always a pleasure to see our Day Boarders up in House, and this term has been no exception. The Day Boarder teas have continued to be a lovely time for everyone to come together and catch up. This year, we’ve also introduced Day Boarder breakfasts, which have been a hit! Our Day Boarders are especially pleased with the introduction of House Order minutes from Genevieve, making sure everyone is kept in the loop.
LIV Guy Making
The LIV girls are all busy with building their ‘Guy’ for the Guy Making Competition that takes place during Bonfire Night after Long Leave. The evenings are full of laughter, a lot of yellow, and many hilarious comments about their ‘Guy’.
UIV Dance Competition
The UIV girls have recently begun preparing for the House Dance competition. The girls have been given a brief, set by the PE Department in School, and we are all immensely looking forward to seeing the girls’ performance after Long Leave. The many evenings before, however, are full of music, laughter and many new dance moves for a routine to inspire us all. We wish the girls huge amounts of good luck.
